Linda and I rented a car and headed back to Shala Mar to start our counterclockwise Loop journey. This past year we traveled 4,000 miles down the east coast, to the Bahamas around Florida and up the inland rivers. Our farthest point north was Green Turtle Bay, so that will be where we cross our wake next fall.
I need to wire in the Wakespeed WS500 smart regulators to control charging our new AGM battery bank. The internal regulators on the Balmar 100 A alternators would overcharge the battery bank. Wakespeed monitors amperage, voltage as well as alternator and battery temperatures. The two WSA500s share this information via ethernet to make charging decisions based on the battery profile I set via dip switches.
My neighbor in Indiana fabricated a 5 slot battery rack for my new slimline AGM's (see pic below). Once we get to warmer weather, I will remove the temporary battery box, paint the deck and install. the rack.
